What to Bring
All fishing tackle and life jackets will be provided. If you’re more comfortable using your own gear, feel free to bring it along.
Please remember to bring your:
- Michigan Fishing License – A Michigan fishing license is required for ALL trips for persons 17 years of age or older. For information on how to get a Michigan fishing license click here.
- Ontario Fishing License - If it was determined that we will be fishing Canadian water then an Ontario Non-Resident fishing license will be required for persons 18 years of age or older. For information on how to get an Ontario fishing license click here.
- Jacket or Coat – Early in the season our days on the water will almost always be cool. The water temperature is still rising and even a light breeze can cool things off on an otherwise warm day. And even in the middle of the summer our morning ride across the lake can be a little uncomfortable without a jacket. Always come prepared.
- Rain Gear – On some days rain gear is essential to keep dry during our ride, regardless of what the weather holds in store for us. And we will always fish in the rain as long as there is no threat of lightning or storms. Again, it’s best to be prepared - especially when it comes to staying dry!
- Polarized Sunglasses – Polarized sunglasses offer more than just protection for your eyes. They also allow you to see past the glare and into the water. This will help you see the weedbeds and rockpiles that we may be casting to.
- Food and Drinks – I have a cooler in the boat and will provide ice for drinks. No alcoholic drinks please.
- Camera – Bring your own camera if you wish. I have a digital camera on board at all times and will take pictures and email them to you for no extra charge.
Please Note!
You will be asked to show your Michigan fishing license before we get on the water. If you are unable to do so your trip will be cancelled and your deposit will not be refunded. If you pre-paid for your trip in full, you will receive a refund of your payment, minus the standard $150 deposit.
If we are planning to fish Canadian waters you will also be asked to show your Ontario fishing license. If you are unable to do so, we will have to fish Michigan waters. This could severely limit our ability to have a productive day, since better fishing takes place in Canadian waters at certain times of the year.
